Full description

A Greek company active in production of innovative piping solutions using high density polyethylene (HDPE), is the patent owner of a specially designed pipe, composed by an internal smooth wall and an external spiral wall. The pipe is produced by rolling up a high density polyethylene profile with corrugated section extruded and welded continuously. Between the external spiral wall and the internal smooth wall a steel band is placed. The steel band is already covered with a polyethylene layer and prepared in the same waved form as the external wall, which increase considerably the resistance of the sewage duct to the vertical loads. As far as the jointing system is concerned the pipes extremity is welded internally and externally with one male HDPE coupling produced by roto moulded system. The male part is realized with two seats in which two seal rings can be installed.

A great variety of structures and shapes are available by cutting and welding pieces of the pipe. All shapes include the connection part fitted with the two seals needed for jointing. To connect with a concrete mahole sanded couplings are available to better stick to the concrete.

The pipes are produced according to the European norm EN 13476 and the German norm DIN 16961. The company is looking for engineering and industrial partners in order to conclude a technical and/or commercial agreement with technical assistance.

Innovative Aspects

The main innovative characteristics of the twin-wall pipes are high abrasion resistance and resistance to damage, resistance to vertical loads, laying easiness & quickness, as well as extreme lightness and easy handling with light mechanical means. Furthermore the design and production of these pipes guarantees a high deflection resistance. They are produced in two ring stiffness classes, so they can fulfill even the most difficult applications, with heavy traffic loads.

Their jointing system provides tightness and makes them the most reliable in cases of high water table effect offering an excellent leak proof network.
